This is the Mantis Society's Philosophy section. This is an independent understanding of god unassociated with an other religion.

His Eminence, Mantis, has been teaching his understanding of god since 1980. He has dealt with people from all walks of life, as his teachings discuss.
It is our hope that these words will help you understand yourself and the world around you. The messages will gain more detail as Mantis finds the need for further explanation of a topic.

Spirit

The Spirit is a form of life. To fully understand this we must understand that the entire Universe is energy. The fact that this may take form is due to the cross configurations of the physical properties of energy. That is all that need be said on that at this time.
Energy, in human reference, is the factor that allows us to operate. The principles of this are those that, in my belief, were divined by god. The energy that exists with life must, by the basic factors of physics, become something else down the line.
In our case we have a fundamental soul. This soul exists as a creation of life. All matter is alive, in some respect, but presently only self-animated creatures are considered life.
The soul is a self-animated creature. It "eats" and thinks. In human form we utilize a complex system of organs, virtually independent organisms operating in a singular capacity, to extract energy from our natural environment. This is a factor of the recycling component of energy.
All life is cannibalistic, from our Sun to the minute components of the atomic substructure. We all live at each other's expense. Yet, certain factors are independent. The soul is using the body as a vehicle. It is a symbiotic relationship. When the host ends its existence, the parasite may continue on in an independent form.
Of course, this is not definite. Since the components that makeup life must operate in certain groupings to be a soul, the mere fact that energy is soul is wrong. The soul is a component of the combination of particles of energy coming together and gaining a degree of self-awareness. Otherwise, energy is just a primal force operating in an existence of constant changing form.
As for an afterlife, we have the opportunity to exist as a soul in many planes. Since we may not be limited by the physical limitations of space, yet having a relevance of time, we can, theoretically, be anywhere we can figure out how to get to.
Theoretically, the concept of Heaven is a creation of humanity. The factors of polarity can figure into the dynamics of this concept. Our soul carries a specific polarity, since it is mere energy. This polarity will carry it to certain locations in our realm of existence.
To configure hell as a physical location could be understood as be sucked into a black hole. To be in Heaven could be considered the ability to travel freely from plane to plane. The acceptance of god as a creator of the Universe will give us the ability to understand that the decision of our ability to function beyond physical life was a component of our basic design.
Yet, the fact that even a soul would not exist into eternity is real. Since all forms of complex energy groupings degrade, and then the soul should be within this field of laws. This also means that our souls, as parasites, could relocate into other physical forms, thus explaining reincarnation.
