This is the Mantis Society's Philosophy section. This is an independent understanding of god unassociated with an other religion.

His Eminence, Mantis, has been teaching his understanding of god since 1980. He has dealt with people from all walks of life, as his teachings discuss.
It is our hope that these words will help you understand yourself and the world around you. The messages will gain more detail as Mantis finds the need for further explanation of a topic.

Relationships

When two people have sex it is to be within a bond of trust and Love. My teachings don't expressly forbid premarital relations, just procreation before marriage. This goes beyond intimacy. This covers homosexual relations. It could be said that homosexuality is nature’s way of population control for humans. Since humans have evolved (as god intended, although not necessarily for it to be humans) into a creature with the lack of outside threats to control population.
Saying this, I don't endorse sex on a first date. The mere physical pleasure should not weight against the lack of compassion. There is no reason why you can't develop a relationship with someone, even if it is a close friendship, which may be enhanced with the occasional physical contact.
That does not mean that you can have a "friend" on the side of your marriage that you do things with behind the back of your partner that is generally dishonest.
Live honest with yourself.
The greatest sin is trying to lie to god. All sins of human-to-human discord are second. Of course, one can't lie to god, which is the stupid part.
If two people wish to live together before marriage, then god has no rule against this. It is god's will, shown by the level of independence in humans, that self-determination is the key to an independent existence. There should be no "living in fear of god". If those people wish to have sexual intercourse without the allegiance of moral marriage (distinctly different from legal marriage), then they are in the realm of a sin that will be judged against them in eternity, yet human law has no right to judge this. Beyond this, god created what could be life, evolution handled the rest.
